Where are the falling pieces of sky? Where is that hand basket? What will we do now?
Time for most evangelicals to pick their jaws up from the floor and back up what they say they believe.
Obama has won the election, and will be our 44th president. Praise God! Not because I voted for him, because I didn’t, but because God has purposed him for this moment. Obama is not going to be president because he won the three hundred and forty-nine electoral votes at present but because he has been allowed to by the One in charge.
So I say, here is our chance. This is not defeat for Christians and their moral beliefs about abortion, homosexual marriage or the many other issues. This is opportunity! We will face challenging days ahead, and we will be given opportunity to stand up for what we believe in and allow for others to see that our faith in God is not hollow. I encourage all to “give unto Caesar”, but to not compromise their obedience to Christ. Forgo the hate speech and the disregard for our President elect and his cabinet choices. Honor God in all you say in do.We have heard it said many times in the past few weeks, that “regardless of the outcome of the election, everything is going to be all right!” It is!
Obama as president is not safe for Christians. Not safe in the sense that we cannot hide behind him. He opposes much of what we believe and we might actually have to take a stand, and that scares us. The time has come for the apron strings to be untied, the cord to be cut, and for us to stand on our beliefs in Christ. Face the next four years with the confidence that we have already won and let us focus on telling others about Christ by modeling it with our lives!
