lake-mindI would like to give a review of the book Lake Mind, not because the author is my father, but because the book is actually helpful.

My dad began writing this book many, many moons ago. It came about from an illustration he would use in counseling and teaching, for people who were battling images, memories, and instances of their past.

“Most [of} the problems we have are related to something in our past that we no longer can or want to recall. Remembering is not our problem. We never forget anything. It is the inability or refusal to recall memories that plague us.”

In the early 1970’s several anti-pollution laws caused the paper mills, factories, and power plants to clean up their use of the air and water in the area of which my parents live. Over several years, my father noticed how the brackish, brown water was becoming clear again because of the lack of pollution being poured into the river, creeks, and streams of his once favorite “fishing holes”. The consequence of clear water allowed the fish to see him as he cast his lure, and in return allowed them to flee before “falling for the bait”.

This illustration describes how our minds are. Like many rivers and lakes, the area of our minds are dark, brown, and brackish from the pollution we have allowed to enter in. This pollution comes from abusive family relationships, perverse upbringing, pornography and other indiscretions that we have allowed or had no choice in allowing to enter into our memory.

Throughout this book, my father outlines how through prayer and the studying of God’s Word, the pollution in your mind can be filtered out and the “lake” of your mind can be clear and refreshed through the power of God.

So if you or someone you know could benefit from a pollution-free mindset, give this book a chance. It has helped change and transorm hundreds of lives already. You can get the book at this link from or from this blog. Look at the top of the page for the tab that says Lake Mind.
