Obama has been making a lot of decisions in the past month. After all putting together a super team for your cabinet is not an easy task and dodging mud slinging from your former governors misappropriations, proves to be difficult as well. I am not so interested in Obama’s cabinet choices, nor am I concerned with his dealings with Blagojevich. However, I am interested in one decision that Obama will make in the next few weeks; Which church will he choose should he decide to attend church?
There is much debate whether Obama is Christian or Muslim. It even appears that the lines are blurry to Obama himself. The recent desicion to have Rick Warren give the inagural prayer seems to be a smart one, if he were trying to still win votes among the evangelical right. The fact that he has already won the presidency means that this isn’t the case. The choice to let Rick Warren give the prayer is smart indeed if you consider his other option, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who has done enough damage as it is.
I have heard much speculation in recent days about Obama coming “out of the closet” (being Muslim, not gay), but I also have to consider the sources ( the same people who seem to think Obama is the Anti-Christ). To be honest, I really don’t care if he is Muslim or not. My faith in the running of this country is not in man. We’ve had less than favorable president’s before and maybe Obama should be given an opportunity to succeed before we assume he will fail. Obama has tried for the past two years to bridge the gap between conservatives and liberals, and according to the polls he did win 24% of the votes by those who proclaim to be evangelical Christian.
So which church/mosque will Obama attend. I don’t know, but I do hope that he attends according to what he believes and not according to what he thinks America wants him to. If this means that he is Muslim, it’s not the end of the world, God will still use the man He has put in this position to continue carrying out His plan for our nation.
