Last night in our Wednesday night youth class we started a study on relationships called “Dating by the Book” by Matt Brinkley.

For my introduction to the study I asked them a few questions about dating, relationships, and beliefs and was quite amused by the answers given. Here is a sample:

Define Dating:dating

1. Wasting money on someone you like

2. A warning

What are some dating rules:

1. Can’t be related (yes we are in Georgia)

2. Can’t cheat

Reasons for Dating:

1. To make the person you like jealous

2. To pass the time

Before you get all upset, these were the answers given by those trying to be cute.  However in our culture today this are viable answers. What we hope to accomplish through this study is to give a biblical guideline for relationships so that their relationships will bring honor to God’s name instead of causing the individuals shame. Pray for us as we embark on this study. Last night we talked about building a foundation for our relationships, and how that foundation must be Jesus Christ.  Pray also that the seed falls on fertile ground.

Here is the video I showed to kick things off. I never get tired of watching it!
