I was recently told that I preach, teach and talk about God’s grace and mercy “a whole lot”.  My response was/is ” I certainly hope so, because apart from His mercy and grace, what else do we have to talk about?”

I am finding more and more people here in this community that believe if you are good, moral, and attend church occasionally, then you’re on your way to heaven. If you keep whatever “rules” that the church has given you (no beer, no R rated movies, no cursing, no dancing, no card playing, enter vice here) and you conform to their image ( KJV only, homeschool only, long skirts, long hair on women, short hair on men, no tattoos, no piercings, etc. ) then you are next to God.

I have had multiple conversations where  there is talk about:

1. Earning our way into heaven

2. That what we do must count in our favor towards God

3. That God is lucky to have us

I could go on but it saddens me, to find so many people misled. And what saddens me more is where people have gotten this notion that they can do these things and stand before God as righteous – the church. The one place where we need to be reminded that we’re not good enough and that apart from God’s mercy and grace we’re going to Hell!

So let us talk about grace. Let us live gracefully towards those who have yet to experience grace. Let your life be an example of what God has done through His mercy. Share His “GOOD NEWS” ! Tell people the truth. Tell them they’ll never do enough or be good enough, and that apart from His Son Jesus Christ they’ll never see Heaven.

I tell you this because I love you. Who do you love enough to share this with?
